Mangulzhi Amman temple is located in Mangulzhi Gudalur Nilgir's. Gudalur is located in Nilgiri district of tamailnadu. The Mangulzhi Amman Temple is located nearly 2 kilometer from Gudalur Bustand. The temple is located in the center of Mangulzhi, hence the name comes as Mangulzhi Amman Temple. The god we worship is Devi ( Parvathi Devi).
This temple is under the control of TamilNadu Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Department. This is very old temple in Gudalur Nilgirs in the state of Tamil Nadu. it is undeniably the most beautiful ancient temple in gudalur functioning actively.
Every Tuesday and Friday only the temple is been opens for worship. Lot of peoples from different place from Gudalur and from near by areas like Ooty Masinagudi Panthalur Pattavayal are coming her to worship the god on every Tuesday and Friday of every week.
Every year at the month of January there will be temple festival conducted by Mangulzhi Amman Seva Sangam and hindu aranilai thurai from tamilnadu government.
This year 2019 the temple function stared at jan 4 and ended at the date of jan 20. January 4 is the Kollavettu function from Narimoola a place located near to temple. Every peoples from different areas comes to temple and after the pooja and arul vakku from thambiratti, every one moves to narimoola the place were the kollavettu fuction Starts.
With more than 500 peoples comes with thamburatti to kolluvettu from manuzhi temple, the functions starts on that day. The banana is taken from narimoola to temple with thambirati and lot of poojas. The banana is been kept in the temple for near 15 days, after 15 days Chillana festival is been started and bunch of coconut is taken from Mambvayal family.
Once the coconut reaches to the temple the chillana pooja has been stared. More than 1000 plus peoples will worship the god in this festival, the festival will end of the Jan 20.
